Lead Teacher at KOA Okinawa Araha Studio

KOA (Kids On Air) is an International Discovery Afterschool that specializes in dynamic project-based lessons.We are looking for a creative and innovative educator to join our pioneer team as Lead Teacher in our newly opened Okinawa Araha Studio! A successful candidate will lead the daily program, projects, and all aspects of the classroom environment and studio management. This position is well suited to an individual that has interesting skills that will bring excitement to the classroom and leadership skills to excel at managing a studio. At KOA, we explore a new country each month, immersing ourselves in the culture through these avenues and inspiring kids with fun and engaging activities! Our projects cover many categories: Creative, Cooking, Engineering, Science, Cultural Expression and Sports. We provide a safe and encouraging environment for natural language acquisition, allowing children to develop English communication skills at their own pace.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU MUST:

– have the genuine interest to connect with kids and educate them about cultural diversity and world citizenship

– be a creative thinker

– be responsible and organized

– be able to manage multiple priorities efficiently

– be able to work both independently and as part of a team

– be good at relating to staff and co-workers

– have a growth mindset

NECESSARY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :

– Fluent English level

– Experience and interest in teaching children elementary-aged or younger.

– Experience teaching in Japan

– Experience in a leadership role is a plus, but not necessary

WORKING HOURS :

Manager: Monday-Friday 10:00 – 19:00

Teacher(Full Timer): Monday-Friday 10:00 – 19:00

Administrator(Full Timer): Monday-Friday 10:00 – 19:00

Teacher(Part Timer): TBD

Bus Driver(Part Timer): TBD

BENEFITS :

Manager: 280,000yen/month〜

Full Timer: 230,000yen/month〜

Part Timer: 1,200yen/hour〜
